Some questions we have already heard from others:
Are you willing to adopt a child or only a newborn?
We would be willing to adopt a child under 3 so as not to disrupt the "birth" order of our children.
Are you looking for a boy or girl?
We are looking for a child - we have no preference on gender.
What about race/ethnicity?
We are already a "trans-racial" family, having one child from China and are open to any race/ethnicity.
Can you adopt a child from Germany?
Any child we adopt has to have a US citizen birthmother. The Hague treaty prevents us from adopting internationally without going through an international adoption agency. Although we have done that before, we do not feel that calling for us right now. If there is a US Citizen who gives birth in Germany, or anywhere in Europe for that matter, we are eligible to adopt that baby.
Can you adopt a child in the US while you are stationed in Germany?
Yes! Once the child is born, we would be given a special power of attorney and a special type of passport that would allow us to bring the child back to Germany until we would return to Oklahoma to finalize the adoption.
Why do you want to adopt when you already have three kids?
God has given us the desire and resources to care for children that we cannot give birth to ourselves, so we feel adoption is the perfect route for us. We feel led by God to add to our family and adoption is the way that we feel He has chosen for us to do that.
We hope that answers any questions that you might have.
